HBCU Leadership Incubator™

The HBCU Leadership Incubator™ is a 12-week leadership development program helping top Black college students bridge the gap between classroom learning and workforce doing.

Each HBCU student "lead" gains entrepreneurial skills and professional leadership experience by developing & managing an HBCU First program.

Spring 2021 Cohort

We provide each intern:
• Meaningful, project-based work
• Weekly growth sessions
• Networking opportunities
• Honorarium + bonus
We're seeking students who are:
• Actively committed to learning
• Creative problem-solvers
• Self-motivated and driven
• Detail-oriented

People Lead (remote)

As People Lead, you will work closely with each of our 40+ interns to provide support and performance metrics. This is a 12-week role with a $2,000 honorarium + bonus.

Goals
• Maximize individual and team performance
• Complete a capstone project designed by you

Expectations
• Strong people and organizational skills
• Ability to lead a team and inspire peers to act
• Complete a weekly status report on all 40+ interns

Requirements
• Business related major
• Currently enrolled, full-time HBCU student
• Commit at least 15 hrs/wk to HBCU First
• 3.0+ GPA

Peer Researcher (remote)

As Peer Researcher, you will design & conduct research studies through questionnaires and interviews. This is a 10-week role with a $500 honorarium + bonus.

Goals
• Publish an insightful study about HBCU students
• Complete a capstone project designed by you

Expectations
• Strong organizational and analytical skills
• Ability to aggregate and interpret data
• Produce at least one report per week

Requirements
• STEM or social sciences related major
• Currently enrolled, full-time HBCU student
• Commit at least 3 hrs/wk to HBCU First
• 3.0+ GPA

Staff Writer (remote)

As Staff Writer, you will bring voice to HBCU First's work by writing & placing essays, blogs and press releases. This is a 10-week role with a $500 honorarium + bonus.

Goals
• Increase earned media and search visibility
• Develop a strong brand narrative for HBCU First

Expectations
• Strong writing and storytelling skills
• Ability to convert top stories & trends to content
• Publish at least one write-up per week

Requirements
• Communications related major
• Currently enrolled, full-time HBCU student
• Commit 3 hrs/wk to HBCU First
• 3.0+ GPA
