About HBCU First

We believe Black youth are key to furthering our nation's prosperity. So in 2019, HBCU First did two things to support our future leaders:
● we developed the nation's first & only HBCU Exploratory Program
● we built an online resource center for college-bound Black Americans

HBCU First promises Black American students, and those who support them, a greater sense of purpose and a better view of how they fit into the world. We are on a mission to help promising students lead the future.

HBCU First was established in 2019 as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Our name "HBCU First" was born from our belief that HBCUs should be the first choice of college-bound Black Americans.
Accuracy and Fairness: We believe facts, context, and the details matter. We strive to get it right by avoiding bias and thoroughly researching all of our work product.

Agility and Progress: We take an iterative approach to developing our programs & resources, and actively seek input from students, partners, and supporters.

Collaboration and Synergy: We believe in the power of synergy and seek to form & grow productive relationships with all who are in (and for) the HBCU community.
